Lee Siang comes with a wealth of experience in the fields of Architecture and Design. He has held several esteemed positions in his industrious career that spans over the last three decades. Formerly the Group Managing Director of Ong & Ong, a multidisciplinary consultancy firm, as well as a past President of the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA), Lee Siang now presides over the World Green Building Council. Valued for his keen foresight and vast experience in the Design industry, Lee Siang also sits on the board of several other councils/committees.

The Founder & Creative Director of Lavaworks, a business design consultancy, Andrew is also the Business Director of Egg Creatives, a multi diciplinary design agency with presence in Singapore and China. A graduate of Temasek Polytechnic, he first practised as a designer in the furniture industry before his interests pollinated to other creative sectors. In 2003, Andrew represented Singapore at the prestigious Singapore-Australia Young Business Ambassador, which saw his efforts forged greater collaboration between the two countries’ creative industry.

A strong advocate of the local design industry, Andrew played an active role in the Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC) and was the Vice-Chairman of the Design Advisory Committee. During that time, he conceived Singapore’s leading Design Festival, SingaPlural. Andrew was also a representative at DesignSingapore’s Industry Development Panel which looks into the development of the entire design industry. Impassioned with nurturing young minds, he has served as adjunct lecturer in Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, juror for numerous design competitions and was a member of the Board of Examiners for the Building and Construction Authority.

Ms Chee Su Eing is the Founder and Managing Director of D’Perception Ritz Pte Ltd, an interior design company which specializes in both Residential and Hospitality projects. With more than 20 years of experience in the Built Environment as well as Interior Architecture Consultancy and Contract works for Residential, Hospitality, Healthcare and Corporate projects under her belt, Su Eing works closely with her clients to deliver solutions that meld lifestyle, form and function.

Experienced in consultancy works for Overseas Hospitality Projects, Su Eing and her team’s projects have been featured in local and overseas magazines such as Home & Decor, Singapore Tatler, Square Rooms, Metropolitan Home and FORM. Led by Su Eing, her team’s collaborative project with GK Architects and the Wywy Group for a home in Sentosa Cove won an award in the Singapore Design Awards (SDA). More recently, three more of her team’s projects in the residential, hospitality and healthcare sectors were awarded the SG Mark (Singapore Good Design Mark).

Nav is Managing Partner of Ideactio, a Singapore-based business & design consultancy that specialises in designing Innovation, Experiences and Brands with clients. He possesses a unique mix of client-side perspective and agency-side knowledge accumulated from more than 14 years working on both sides, across Asia and Europe. He has advised public sector institutions as well as Singapore SMEs in a range of sectors. Some of them include RE&S, Harry’s & St James, STB, CNB, SBF, Eu Yan Sang, NTUC FairPrice, etc. to name a few.

Previously the lead facilitator to launch SPRING Singapore’s Education Innovation programme targeted at SME institutions delivering pre-school, school and tertiary education, Nav continues to work closely with SPRING Singapore and DesignSingapore Council in delivering quality innovation and branding programs to companies in Singapore. Nav has also been active in the business community, with most recently serving as Vice-Chairman of YEN Young Entrepreneurs Network at SICCI.

 

 

 

Ulrich SchraudolphUlrich Schraudolph

Ulrich is Founding Director and Design Director at XentiQ, a Singaporean design consultancy. He has 25 years of product design experience, working many years in product design consultancies in France and Singapore, after studies in Germany, Switzerland and the United States, where he attended Art Center College of Design. He also holds a Masters in Human Factors Engineering from NTU. Ulrich’s client record includes multinational corporations like Colgate, Unilever, Alcatel, Sagem as well as SME’s in fields ranging from electronics and industrial equipment to furniture, optical and medical products among others. In Singapore he has been working in design programs for companies such as HP, Osim, Hyflux, Honeywell, Singapore Technologies, LUX Asia Pacific, Woodhead, smartBridges and Shell Solar.

Ulrich has been a consultant with the Korean Institute of Design and Packaging (KIDP) and a lecturer at CREAPOLE design school in Paris, the Asian Productivity Organisation (APO), at National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Singapore Stanford Biodesign (SSB), among other lecturing activities. He served many years in the executive committee of DBCS, last as Vice-President (2011 – 2013).

Kai How graduated from the Graduate School of Business, National University of Singapore with a Master of Science (Management) in 2002. In the early years, he was a part of Singapore’s leading economic development agency for tourism, The Singapore Tourism Board, which seeks to create a vibrant destination for both international visitors and Singaporeans. He oversaw many exciting portfolios including the promotion of Orchard Road as the premier shopping street and Singapore as a Global Schoolhouse.

Driven by an innate passion for design and limitless creativity, Kai How joins the largest premier private education group, Raffles Education Corporation Limited, which owns a vast network of 31 colleges and universities in 29 cities across 12 countries globally. Bringing his wealth of experience and entrepreneurial mindset, Kai How now holds several appointments such as the Director of Human Resource, and Branding, as well as Vice President of South East Asia Operations.

Dr. Kristin L. Wood is currently a Professor, Engineering and Product Development (EPD) Head of Pillar, and Co-Director of the SUTD-MIT International Design Center (IDC) at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Dr. Wood completed his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in the Division of Engineering and Applied Science at the California Institute of Technology, where he was an AT&T Bell Laboratories Ph.D. Scholar. Dr. Wood joined the faculty at the University of Texas in September 1989 and established a computational and experimental laboratory for research in engineering design and manufacturing, in addition to a teaching laboratory for prototyping, reverse engineering measurements, and testing. During the 1997-98 academic year, Dr. Wood was a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the United States Air Force Academy. Through 2011, Dr. Wood was a Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Design & Manufacturing Division at The University of Texas at Austin. He was a National Science Foundation Young Investigator, the “Cullen Trust for Higher Education Endowed Professor in Engineering,” “University Distinguished Teaching Professor,” and the Director of the Manufacturing and Design Laboratory (MaDLab) and MORPH Laboratory. Dr. Wood has published more than 350 refereed articles and books, has received more than 25 national and international awards in design, research, and education, and is a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

 

Derek van DugterenDerek van Dugteren

Based in Singapore since the early 90’s, Derek has been an integral participant of the themed entertainment, events & heritage exhibition market throughout the Asia Pacific region. His early career development in Sydney involved a wide range of commercial, retail and government sector projects, which culminated in the iconic Australian Bicentennial Exhibition. His international exposure has included projects in Europe, Middle East as well as North & South Asia, such as the German and Japanese World Expos in 2000 and 2005 respectively. Following his long-term position after Pico’s Senior Creative Director, he was appointed principal consultant & managing director of Carini Design Consultants in 2008 as well as forming the Creative EDGE Consultancy group – an international collaborative linking specialists from the UK, Australia and Asia.

With over 30 years in the exhibition industry, his experience in themed environments, museum, exhibition, events and interior design has made him a multi-disciplined expert with regards to creative, technical and practical execution of projects, providing a holistic approach to developing and realising design projects. The RWS Maritime Experiential Museum production-design consultancy is testament to his ability to undertake complex, large-scale projects.

 

Song Kee Hong

Kee Hong is an associate professor and deputy head at the Industrial Design Division at NUS. He brings over two decades of industry cross-disciplinary design experience from Ziba, HP, Design Exchange and BxD.

Kee Hong has worked with notable brands across diverse industries like Apple, B&O, HP, Intel, Lenovo, P&G, Philips, Sennheiser and WelchAllyn. Kee Hong’s portfolio of work has received over twenty International design awards – including iF, G-Mark and the prestigious Red Dot Luminary Award.

His recent body of work includes Experience and Industrial Design for healthcare facilities, retail environments, digital interfaces, biomedical and equipment.

He has been on the jury of numerous design awards over his career; including the recent Red Dot Award 2015, Spot Design Award 2015, Furniture Design Award 2014 and G-Mark Design Award 2014.

 

 

Alexander LauAlexander Lau

Trained in Industrial Design at the Queensland University of Technology, Alexander has experienced many aspects of the Design Profession. He began his career in design promotion, organizing major international design conferences and exhibitions. He then moved into design consultancy, working on diverse and multidisciplinary projects for the lifestyle, transportation, healthcare and military sectors, for both local and international clients.

Alex is now with Public Service Division, PMO.  He sold his design business in 2011 and was with the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) College Central as Head of the Design Excellence Centre. At ITE, Alexander is responsible for developing and running the Design Thinking programme to train the workforce. He has trained many students and adults learners since joining ITE. Alexander has been an Executive Committee member of the Design Business Chamber (formerly Designers Association Singapore) since 1997, holding various key appointments.

 

 

Barnabas Chia

Barnabas joined Pico Singapore in late 2011 as General Manager, overseeing a team focused on the events and exhibitions for various corporate and public sector clients. He joined the Pico Group officially in the United States as Director of Corporate Development in 2009, focusing on global business development and evaluating potential M&A targets across all Pico’s business sectors – events, exhibitions, permanent environments & visual identity solutions. During Barnabas’ tenure in Pico US, he also performed sales and project management roles for corporate clients such as Motorola, Gigamon, Manz Automation, Vanguard Pailung and NextWindow at various international tradeshows.

Barnabas began his career in investment banking at JPMorganChase in San Francisco, CA, advising various technology clients on mergers and acquisition as well as equity and debt financing opportunities.

Prior to joining Pico, he spent over three years at Oracle Software’s internal M&A team as a Senior Manager, advising executive management on M&A opportunities and managing large cross functional teams in due diligence and integration activities for over $10B in acquisitions including Sun Microsystems, Primavera Systems, Goldengate Software & Skywire Software.

Bojan is an architect by training but he has spent nearly his entire career in financial services. Passionate about Design Thinking, he is leading the Experience Design Department at OCBC Bank. Recognized as thought leader in customer experience, he is a major driver in the transformation of OCBC into a more client-focused company.
